About Cantley Customs LLC

I’ve been wondering if by wandering out in the community and networking while working alongside creative people if, and when, it would allow me the ability and opportunity to use my own instruments to sustain a living wage while benefitting my neighborhood. My work history is interesting, but I’ve been showing up and getting involved since I was a 14 year-old kid in a suit interviewing for the town library.

I sharpen my tools in a small shop where I am often creating something entirely new to me, adventuring further and further along the experimental woodworker’s path. Folks have requested custom commissions, and I try to infuse their ideas with solid construction methods and sharp blueprints. I take my tools around on house calls as a contractor, assessing damages or redesigns. Whether I’m batching serving boards for a local restaurant, installing a sloped deck roof, or gluing together a broken headstock, I’m always eager to continue meeting new people and serving practical needs.

By night, I’m writing, recording, and performing songs that I really believe in. I take time discovering what each song needs to remain honest, and then steer what surfaces toward what keeps me grounded, hopeful. I want my songs to champion the authentic dreamer in the listener, to connect to audience with a chance to bring people together, fostering community perspectives in a divided world.
